Yohani

The world doesn't speak Sinhala. It sang along anyway.

Yohani is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombo, and Sri Lanka's most commercially successful contemporary artist. She plays piano, acoustic and electric guitar, and sings in Sinhala, Hindi and English.

In 2021 Manike Mage Hithe crossed every border it met. It reached YouTube's global Top 10, was remade in more than 30 languages, and took her to Bollywood, T-Series and prime-time Indian television. Haa Chuttak and Chuttak Chuttak showed it was no accident.

Since then: three studio albums, a Grammy submission for Kella, the Sri Lanka remix of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup anthem with Sean Paul and Kes, her first English single with Red Bull Records, and Kala Keerthi Abhimani, Sri Lanka's highest national honour for the arts. In 2026 she released Sadde and became a coach on The Voice Teens Sri Lanka.
